Adobe Photoshop Beta – Firefly-powered Generative Fill

Did you know that Adobe has released a beta version of Photoshop with a new Generative Fill tool?

This tool is simple and fun to use! You can add, extend and remove content from images with very simple text prompts. I was super impressed by the results I got in a very short time.

Adobe Firefly is a creative generative AI engine. The current model is trained on a dataset of Adobe Stock, along with openly licensed work and public domain content where copyright has expired.

To demonstrate, below is the starting image (left) and the one I achieved using the tool. If you have a subscription, don’t miss out on this chance to explore your creativity with the latest Photoshop beta. For those who don’t have a subscription, you can still download a trial version and give it a go!

Image created with Runway – You can train your own portrait generator for text to image, which is pretty cool!

Final result after using Adobe beta’s Generative Fill. I use very short prompts and let the tool fill the selected areas. It really does a good job on its own.
